Issue 01

Masks we wear

We all wear masks. Sometimes to protect ourselves. Sometimes to hide something we don't want to show. Wearing a mask is putting on your best smile when inside, the only thing left is shattering. Wearing a mask is pretending everything is alright when inside you don't even remember how hapiness is like.

'Issue 01: Masks We Wear' invites young voices to explore their masks — the emotions hidden behind them, the stories hidden far from the surface, and what it's like when those masks slip.

Collab mini issue 01

The garden isn't yours

Throughout our lives we are judged. The pressure to be
perfect makes it hard to breathe. Expectations hurt, orders distress, the government oppresses. For too long we have been forced to be someone we are not, to plant flowers in our gardens that we do not want to bloom.

That is why, for the collaborative mini issue of Ink & Butterflies Magazine,The Heath Mgazine and Temple Lit Mag we  choose the theme “the garden isn’t  yours”. We are looking for pieces that rebel against this  system. Small acts of rebellion against perfection, being yourself for the first time in years of pretending to be someone you aren’t, dancing in the rain even if they told younot to. Small things that make it clear that your garden belongs to no one but yourself to cultivate, grow and bloom
